Academics

Crosspoint's Elementary School offers a rigorous academic program based on biblical principles for pre-kindergarten through 6th grade students. The program provides a solid foundation of knowledge in each of the core subject areas and emphasizes the development of critical thinking skills. Our Kindergarten program is full-day, and our pre-Kindergarteners learn alongside the Kindergarteners three days a week.

We seek to develop the following academic and spiritual fundamentals in our young scholars:

Students receive an overview of the Old and New Testaments and Bible doctrine, and are encouraged to develop Christian traits through the study of Bible characters and the life of Christ. Students attend weekly chapel services.

Language Arts curriculum focuses on phonics and grammar, the development of reading skills using traditional readers and literature sets, and composition using the Four Square Method.

Mathematics emphasizes basic math facts and skills as a foundation for advanced problem solving.

Patriotism and God's sovereignty in historical events are taught as the students explore American and world history and geography.

Science demonstrates God's glory and order through His creation.

Elementary students at every grade level learn Spanish basics one day each week.

Elementary courses use curriculum from ABeka, Bob Jones, ACSI, and McMillan-McGraw Hill.

Each year elementary students in first through sixth grades take the TerraNova Standardized Test, published though McGraw
-Hill.
