Joshua Haveman Joshua was born and raised in southwest Michigan. He and his wife met at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI. They have also lived in Ohio and Iowa. He and his family currently reside in Union, MO. Joshua and Michelle have three children. Joshua holds a BA in English from Cornerstone University and an MA in Popular Culture from Bowling Green State University. He has been the administrator at Crosspoint Christian School since September 2009. His hobbies include reading, writing, drinking coffee and engaging in deep conversation. In his spare time Joshua also enjoys cooking and photography. When asked what he appreciates most about CCS, he says, " I greatly value the dedicated staff at Crosspoint Christian School. The women who teach here are professional, dedicated individuals who love Christ and serve both Him and their students visibly."
Joshua's favorite passage of scripture is Romans 12: 9-13 “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” He explains, "I value this section from Romans because I believe it gets to the heart of the gospel. Jesus offers us grace. Then by that grace, through faith, when we accept his death and resurrection as a substitute for our own, we are born again. But the joy in that new birth is that it means a new life. I believe Paul gets to the particulars of that new life here in Romans 12. Life in Christ is about sincere love, goodness, brotherly affection, selflessness, zeal and spiritual fervor for the Lord. In Christ we can have joyful hope, be patient under stress, regularly communicate with God, and provide for those who are lacking. The new life is a great life, and I see its picture here."

Erin Avery – Instructor St. Clair is the home of Mrs Avery, her husband, and two stepsons. She graduated from Hannibal LaGrange College with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration and a minor in English. She has a Masters in Education from Missouri Baptist University. Mrs. Avery began teaching at Crosspoint in 2002. She teaches Bible, English, math, yearbook and drama. She has also coached cheerleading, sponsored KMO, and co-directed Crosspoint's spring productions. The book of the Bible that encourages her the most is Philippians. When questioned about what she enjoys most at Crosspoint, Mrs. Avery explains, "Although I enjoy teaching all of my classes, Worldviews is certainly one of my favorite parts of the school day. At the beginning of the year, the content seems to overwhelm the Juniors, but by October, they are beginning to identify other worldviews in the media. Almost every day, the students will share what they have seen or heard. Even CCS alumni will share with me what they have encountered in college. It's exciting to be a part of a class that is equipping our students to interpret the society in which they live!"
Vicki Beumer – Instructor
Miss Beumer was born in St. Louis, but spent most of her school-age years in Gray Summit. She is a graduate of University of Missouri, St. Louis with a B.S. in Education. Miss Beumer has the distinction of being Crosspoint’s first full-time teacher and the only teacher that has taught at Crosspoint since its conception. Science and math are her teaching passion because “they are two of God’s languages with which He wrote the universe. As we study God’s languages we unlock the mysteries of His awesome power and discover “the heaven’s declare the glory of God.” In addition to math and science, Miss Beumer teaches art and organizes extra-curricular academic clubs. Proverbs 3:5-6 is her life verse. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Miss Beumer says, "My greatest joy at Crosspoint is being able to openly speak of the Creator in my classroom."
Scott Cress – Instructor
Mandy Guenzler – Instructor Mrs. Guenzler was raised in Union, MO. A Crosspoint graduate, she graduated from Missouri Baptist University with a BA in English with an education concentration. Mrs. Guenzler has taught PE part time at Crosspoint since 2002. She now teaches Literature, Bible, Anatomy & Physiology, Pre-Algebra and PE full time and coaches cheerleading. She and her husband reside in Union, MO. Her life verse is found in Habakkuk 2:3: “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come; it will not delay.” Mrs. Guenzler affirms, "The spiritual growth and memories I have made at Crosspoint, both as a student and teacher, are irreplaceable. What influenced me most to return to CCS is the close-knit atmosphere and strength of the teaching staff."
Erik Howard – Instructor
Karen Honeycutt – Instructor Mrs. Honeycutt was born and raised in Gray Summit, MO., where she now resides with her husband and two children. She has a B.S. in Accounting with a minor in English from Southwest Baptist University. She practiced as a CPA for ten years before beginning a family. Her children and her role as a pastor’s wife kept her busy for the next several years. She began teaching at Crosspoint in the spring of 2004. She teaches English, Business Math, American Government, Bible and Reading Workshop. Her life verse is found in Lamentations 3: 22-23: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Explaining her commitment to CCS, Mrs. Honeycutt says, "I appreciate the opportunity to teach English and American Government with a Biblical perspective, which has changed the way I view some of my (formerly) favorite authors, as well as our nation's political and economic structure. Since I teach a variety of subjects, I enjoy the way those subjects often interact and interconnect with each other, an experience that I probably would not have at a much larger school. My favorite part of the school day is watching the light of understanding flash on in the eyes of a student - that 'aha' moment when an idea 'clicks'. I also enjoy hearing from former students, especially when they tell us how well-prepared they were for college!"
