The Summer Slide

The summer slide describes what happens when young minds sit idle for three months. Experts agree that children who read during the summer gain reading skills, while those who do not often slide backward.

The following tips and links are offered to help parents keep families reading together throughout the summer break. Enjoy the vacations and the fun in the sun, but don’t forget to READ every day.
